Don’t be fooled by its size. Chile de Arbol is a small and potent Mexican chili pepper. Also called Bird’s Beak chili. This is not a large chili, but it is around 20,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Unit). It is a spicier than a Serrano but just a bit less in heat than the Cayenne. A small handful packs a good punch.
This is an excellent versatile red chili with an amazing peppery and floral fragrance. Use these little red chili not just in Mexican cuisines, but chop them up for any Szechuan spicy dishes, or keep them whole (practically not spicy) to add colors in any stir fry.
Our Chile de Arbol is always freshly dried, they are soft and pliable, not the typical dried out brittle chili.
